Lisa FranklinMBACP (Accred). EMDR Association UK Member. Cognitive Behavioural Therapist / Psychological Therapist

I am an integrative therapist who has been working in the mental health arena within Leicestershire and Warwickshire for 8 years. I currently work with adults as a High Intensity Psychological Therapist for NHS Talking Therapies. Previous experience includes working with adults and groups for the NHS Perinatal Mental Health Service, with adult survivors of rape or sexual abuse in the voluntary sector, with children and young people in primary and secondary schools and with adults and young people in private practice.
I also have experience of working as a further and higher education tutor teaching counselling and psychotherapy at levels 2 and 6.
My approach is informative, yet warm and compassionate. I specialise in evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR and Interpersonal Therapy but I adopt an integrative approach to meet individual needs. This allows me to work effectively with a range of conditions including anxiety, panic, stress, depression, low self-esteem, OCD, relationship issues, anger, phobias and trauma.
I offer a confidential, non-judgemental environment in which to explore your difficulties, identify how they developed and collaboratively agree the best way forward to overcome them. My experience shows that insight alone can lead to therapeutic change.
I have achieved:
Post Graduate Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (training complete, awaiting qualified practitioner status)
Certified EMDR Practitioner Post Graduate
Certificate in Counselling Supervision
Certified Practitioner The Rewind Technique
BA (Hons) Counselling
FdSc Counselling and Psychotherapy (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
Level 3 Certificate Working with survivors of sexual abuse and rape
CPCAB Level 2 & 3 Counselling Skills and Studies
As an accredited member of the BACP I work within an ethical framework that underpins the work I do. I am committed to ongoing professional development and have undertaken additional training in trauma, suicide risk and ideation, self-harm, OCD, attachment, relationships, working with couples (CBT), domestic abuse, mindfulness, anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. To ensure I work safely and ethically I receive monthly clinical supervision and I am fully trained in safeguarding. I have an enhanced DBS certificate, and am fully insured. I offer 50 minute sessions online or face-to-face in Nuneaton for adults and young people aged 14 years and over.
